Here's a look at the underside of a 3-sided capped composite deck board from Trex. Like the first generation of composite deck boards without a polymer cap, composite deck boards are roughly 10% organic hardwood particles. Without proper ventilation these particles are susceptible to mold, mildew, and fungal growth which can cause premature decay. Unlike Trex, TimberTech offers 4-sided composites at price points comparable to the 3-sided capped composites from Trex.

TimberTech also offers a line of PVC products called Azek decking. Unlike composite decking, Azek decking is 100% PVC so it's ideal for ground level decks with high moisture exposure and low ventilation. Additionally, due to it's slip resistance Azek is a great option around pools and hot tubs. With a Class-A fire rating it's ideal in areas prone to wild fires, where WUI (Wildland Urban Interface) compliance is of concern. Azek stays 30 degrees cooler in comparison to composite decks, and unlike Trex, scratches can be removed with a heat gun, making it the ideal solution if you plan to have pets or furniture on your deck.

Our Platinum Certification is the highest level of certification that any installer can attain from TimberTech. This certification allows us to provide our clients a 5-year labor warranty on their new TimberTech decking, which can be upgraded to a 7-year labor warranty when paired with a TimberTech railing. This means that although the decking may have a manufacturer's warranty of up to 50-years, if any defective board needed replacing, the labor involved would be covered by this warranty. Finally, when your deck has seen its last day, unlike competitors, TimberTech recycles their PVC products through their "Full Circle" recycling program.

Which color should I choose? Well, we usually recommend matching the color tones of your house. All of the decking colors are categorized as browns, grays, and tans. The brown colors are more conventional (like the natural colors of wood decks) while the gray colors offer a more contemporary look. The tan colors can be thought of as a happy medium between the two. Finally, keep in mind that lighter colors will absorb less heat than darker colors, so they will be cooler to the touch, which is especially important if you plan to walk on the deck barefoot, or if you might have pets or infants crawling on the deck.

What separates us from general builders is our specialization in decks. We're certified with the leading deck brands in the industry, allowing us to offer you the best labor warranties available, and our CAD processing eliminates costly designers!
